Gilgit: Sost Dry Port is emerging as an important source of public relief, regional prosperity and national development.Due to the government’s initiatives, commercial activities at the Sost Dry Port have increased, which is providing new opportunities for facilities and development to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Sost Dry Port is the key trade gateway of CPEC and is central to Pakistan-China land trade, while it is also the backbone of the national supply chain from Gilgit-Baltistan to Karachi.Last year, a revenue of Rs 22 billion was obtained from Sost Dry Port, which is of extraordinary importance to the national economy.On public demand, the government has given relief of around Rs 4 billion in sales, income and federal excise tax on goods coming from Sust Port, with the aim of making essential commodities cheaper and creating employment opportunities.
