More than 79,000 pounds of Kirkland Signature butter have been recalled by Continental Dairy Facilities Southwest LLC because of missing information on the packaging regarding milk. Vitamin D was not mentioned on two varieties of Kirkland Signature Salted Sweet Cream Butter and lots of unsalted buttery spread. Two other varieties of butter were unsalted and are illuminated at 46800 pounds and 32400 pounds respectively and they contain “cream,” but do not include the statement in the packaging which says, “contains milk.” (Planning for the future: Food and Drug Administration, or in short FDA).
Moisture cream butter with such a date span includes the date of February 22nd, December 23rd, March 22nd and March 23rd, which indicates that it is best used by 2025. According to the Foods Association, distribution of approximately 2500 cases of butter occurred in Texas.
FDA rules indicate that any product which contains milk must also say on its package or label ‘Contains Milk’. As class II recalls involve controversial cases like this one, it must be taken into consideration that people may have adverse health effects if they happen to expose themselves to that product for too long.
