The Prime Minister also congratulated the people of Bangladesh on the successful conduct of general elections, which reflect the democratic ideals and values of the Bangladeshi nation. Recalling the historical, fraternal relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh, the Prime Minister reiterated his determination to work together with the leadership of Bangladesh to strengthen each other’s sovereignty for all areas of mutual interest as well as regional peace and development. During their pleasant conversation, the two leaders mentioned Begum Khaleda Zia and paid tribute to her outstanding services in Pakistan-Bangladesh relations and her key role in bringing the people of both countries closer.

The Prime Minister invited Tariq Rehman to visit Pakistan as soon as possible. Tariq Rehman also invited the Prime Minister to visit Bangladesh. The two leaders agreed to stay in close contact in the coming days to work for the betterment of both people.
